Maltesers launches Desserts range

Australians will be the first in the world to enjoy the new Maltesers Desserts range.

Promoted as a “bitesize taste of some of the world’s most iconic and mouth-wateringly-good desserts”, the range includes Germany’s “famous” Black Forrest Gateau and the “heart of Italy”, Tiramisu.

Maltesers Desserts Dark Choc Black Forest Gateau Flavour takes inspiration from the “classic” German dessert to create a “crisp malt centre, smothered in smooth and decadent dark chocolate, bursting with notes of cherry and sponge cake”.

Taking inspiration from the traditional Italian “delight”, Maltesers Desserts Milk Choc Tiramisu Flavour features the brand’s “iconic crisp malt centre, covered in smooth, rich milk chocolate with the perfect balance of coffee notes and whipped cream to finish”.

Made in Australia at the company’s Ballarat factory, the new Maltesers Desserts range is a world-first for Mars Wrigley. It follows a recently announced $28.8 million investment into the company’s manufacturing site with the aim bolster the company’s bitesize range.

Mars Wrigley Bitesize Portfolio Director Drew Davis says the new products mark an exciting time for the Maltesers brand.

“Maltesers keeps going from strength to strength. The debut of Maltesers Desserts marks an exciting time for us as a brand as we continue to grow our consumer-led innovation within our bitesize portfolio,” he says.

“The new range delivers a top-notch, premium dessert experience in a simple bitesize format. It’s the first time we’ve created a product like this and we’re anticipating consumers to really enjoy what I believe feels like an indulgent experience.”

The Maltesers Desserts range is launching exclusively at Woolworths this month before rolling out nationwide to all retailers from July.
