Applications for the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy Competition 2024-25 are closing tomorrow (19 June).
Open to chefs aged 18-30, the competition seeks to identify the best young chefs around the world, showcase their talent, and accelerate their professional development.
The local jury for the Pacific Regional Final, tasked with crowning the regional winner, are looking forward to discovering and mentoring young culinary talent. Judges include:
- Josh Niland (Saint Peters, NSW)
- Brigitte Hafner (Tedesca Osteria, Victoria),
- Rosheen Kaul (cookbook author, Victoria)
- Jake Kellie (arkhé, South Australia)
- Brent Savage (Bentley Group, NSW).
Chefs under 30 years of age who wish to compete at the Pacific Regional Final need to register for the competition by submitting a signature dish that embodies their personal vision, unique skills, and creativity.
ALMA, the ‘school of Italian culinary arts’, will assess the applications and draw up the shortlist of competitors ahead of the Regional Finals. The finalists will be announced mid-July, with dates to be advised.
The gala event will take place at the LUME in Melbourne on Wednesday, 9 October, where the overall winner will be announced. The Australia Pacific winner will also have the opportunity to compete in Milan in October 2025 for a chance to win the grand Atle.
