Farmers Union Iced Coffee (FUIC), the unofficial drink of South Australia, has launched a lactose-free iced coffee.
Launching exclusively in South Australia, Farmers Union Iced Coffee Lactose Free is made from fresh Aussie milk and real coffee, but without the lactose and with 25% less added sugar than the original making it easier to digest for those sensitive to lactose.
The flavour has been closely matched to the original FUIC, with the experts at FUIC’s Salisbury factory perfecting the recipe to ensure it tastes just like the original SA icon.
According to recent data, 6% of Australians have been diagnosed lactose intolerant and research shows that 39% of iced coffee drinkers actively limit their consumption of iced coffee due to gut health issues related to lactose (IRI/Consumer panel data Dec 2021 and Project FULAC Research March 2021, supplied by Bega Dairy & Drinks).
“Lactose intolerance is the most commonly self-diagnosed food intolerance in Australia and less than 1% of the milk beverages available to Aussies are suitable for lactose-free drinkers,” says Bega Dairy & Drinks Marketing Director Sharon Winton
“We’re delighted to expand our offering and make enjoying a carton of the SA icon a reality again for fans who have been missing out or limiting their FUIC drinking.”
Farmers Union Iced Coffee is being rolled out across SA, which ranks second highest in per capita consumption of lactose free white milk (Dairy Australia data, supplied by Bega Dairy & Drinks).
Farmers Union Iced Coffee, a brand owned by Bega Dairy and Drinks, is proudly South Australian made and Australian owned. Manufactured at Bega’s Salisbury manufacturing site since 1977, this much-loved icon has a loyal following in SA and is also available in Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania and NSW.
Made with fresh milk from Aussie dairy farms and real coffee, FUIC is available in Original, Strong, No Sugar Added and now Lactose Free.
