Hunt and Brew unveils its first non-coffee drink

Hunt and Brew has launched an “Australian-first” single origin cocoa drink, its first non-coffee beverage.

The Australian boutique coffee maker says it has reimagined the cafe hot chocolate experience with the new ready-to-drink (RTD) cold cocoa single origin beverage.

“We are seeing consumer tastes evolving, with young people in particular seeking out alternatives that are better for you with lower sugar,” says Hunt and Brew Manager Emily Creer.

Following the success of the Hunt and Brew range nationally, the brand says it has taken a step outside of its core coffee range, offering consumers a single origin cocoa drink with no added sugar.

In Hunt and Brew style, the new bottles feature a Boa Snake on pack, which is native to the Santo Domingo region of the Dominican Republic, where the cocoa is sourced.

“Each animal on pack reflects the local hunter of the region where our ingredients are sourced and illustrated by Kerby Rosanes each bringing to life their unique predatory nature,” says Ms Creer.

The Dominican Republic, according to Hunt and Brew, is well known as one of the world’s largest producers of cocoa, leading in export with premium markets globally due to its “high-quality” organic and fair-trade beans.

“We know experience is important and people aren’t willing to compromise on taste or quality. Consumers will pay that little bit more for consistent high-quality beverages and the convenience of the RTD space,” says Ms Creer.

The new cocoa beverage is also packaged in bottles made from 100% recycled Australian plastic.

“We know our consumers are concerned about single use plastics and in addition to the container deposit scheme, we are doing what we can to close the loop and contribute to a circular economy,” says Ms Creer.

Hunt and Brew Cocoa is available in Coles and select convenience and independent stores nationally.
