Gippsland Jersey celebrates being the producers of ‘Australia’s best milk’

Gippsland Jersey has been crowned for producing the best ‘real’ milk in Australia. The prestigious award was presented at the 2024 DIAA Australian Dairy Product Awards of Excellence Gala Dinner on 17 May 2024.

“This remarkable achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our farmers, who consistently produce top-quality jersey milk by ensuring the well-being of their cows and the sustainability of their farms are their uttermost priority,” says Gippsland co-founder and Director Sallie Jones.

“Our small family business journey has been filled with numerous challenges and triumphs over the past eight years. This recent accolade means a lot to us.”

Gippsland Jersey has been honoured with gold medals for all its milk varieties: Full Cream, Light, and Unhomogenised, in addition to Gold for our Golden Ghee. Gippsland Jersey also won silver medals for its Cultured Sour Cream and Unsalted Butter.

“Gippsland Jersey is grateful to Neerim South IGA for bringing its first ever stockist,” Ms Jones said. “Neerim South IGA, a small town Victorian supermarket with a population of under 3000. Last year they did the maths and worked out they sold a whopping 40,000 litres of milk since September 2016. That’s an average of over 600 litres per month.”
