Djokovic uses waterdrop at Australian Open

Waterdrop® is the brand behind the “world’s first” Microdrink, “a sustainable hydration solution without plastic packaging or sugar. Saving 98% of plastic and CO2 compared to drinks in 500ml plastic bottles thanks to its minimal packaging. Microdrinks and Microlyte also offer the electrolytes, vitamins and minerals needed to keep athletes hydrated and performing on court.”

“Backed by Novak Djokovic, Taylor Fritz and Andrey Rublev”, waterdrop® is also the on-court player bottle and is hoping to save over 90,000 single use plastic bottles at the Australian Open.

“Becoming an athlete doesn’t just rely on talent and training, but also on the choices you make for your body,” says Novak Djokovic. “A healthy lifestyle includes proper hydration with no concessions on environmental impact. I believe that by working together, we can make a real difference and get rid of all the plastic bottles on the tour.”

“Australians buy billions of plastic bottles each year and sadly 53% end up in landfill. We’re proud to be part of reducing the impact of single use plastic water bottles during the summer of sports by providing reusable on-court water bottles for the Australian Open.” says waterdrop Australia Director Catherine Dix. “Our mission is to encourage people to drink more water without impacting the environment, and waterdrop Microdrinks and water bottles make the transition that much easier.”
