Costco has confirmed approximately $110M investment in retail development in Ardeer.
Costco is set to relocate its Docklands warehouse to Ardeer to improve members’ convenience and the shopping experience.
The Ardeer warehouse will cover a larger area than the current Docklands warehouse, with 15,000sqm of floor space to house an extended range of “high quality” merchandise. Other enhancements to the member experience include more parking, with 760 spaces available, and Costco Australia’s largest fuel station, which will feature 32 bowsers with two high flow diesel pumps.
Set to create approximately 120 jobs during the construction phase and relocate approximately 270 employees from the current Docklands warehouse, the retail outlet is “a vote of confidence” in the continued growth of Melbourne’s West. It is also great news for Costco’s loyal membership base, particularly those located in the western suburbs of Melbourne.

With over 800 sites around the world, and 14 other warehouse locations across the country, Tingman is confident that the people of Ardeer will benefit from the unique shopping experience they can expect from Costco.

Thousands of brand-name products can be found in groceries, confectionary, liquor, appliances, television and media, automotive supplies, toys, hardware, sporting goods, jewellery, watches, cameras, books, housewares, apparel, health and beauty aids, furniture, office supplies and office equipment.
The Ardeer location will also feature a variety of convenient specialty departments including a fresh bakery, fresh meat, fresh produce, deli, an optical department, hearing aid centre, fuel station, tyre centre and food court.
An annual Costco membership will cost $65 for businesses and individuals, and $130 for Executive Membership.
The Ardeer warehouse will open and the Docklands warehouse will close in late 2024.
