Costco Wholesale Ardeer fuel station opened this morning, ahead of the launch of its newest Melbourne warehouse next month.
Located at 740 Ballarat Road, the Ardeer site is replacing Costco’s first Australian location at Docklands to offer members a more convenient shopping experience.
The construction phase has employed over 2,000 workers and will employ over 300 people when open.
Chris Tingman, Costco Australia Country Manager, says the launch is great news for Melbourne and a vote of confidence in the continued growth of the Ardeer area.

Fuel offer
The Ardeer fuel station is Costco’s largest Australian fuel station, offering ULP 91, premium 98 and premium diesel at 38 filling positions. A Costco membership card is needed to shop and to purchase fuel at the self-serve station.
From today until the warehouse opening, the fuel station will operate from 7am to 7pm, Monday to Sunday.
“The fuel station is set to provide members with exceptional savings at the pump,” said Mr Tingman.
“To ensure efficient refuelling, Costco fuel stations are fitted with extra long hoses so members can fill up from either side of their vehicle, and pumps are fitted with vapour recovery systems that lessen the escape of fuel vapours. Bowsers feature the latest pay-at-the-pump technology, giving members a seamless and convenient refuelling experience. Certified Costco fuel attendants will also be available onsite, ready to help members refuel and to maintain site safety.”
Warehouse opening soon
The warehouse is set to open on 9 April 2025. It will offer items across a range of categories like groceries, confectionery, appliances, television and media, automotive supplies, toys, hardware, sporting goods, jewellery, watches, cameras, housewares, apparel, health and beauty aids, furniture, office supplies and office equipment.

The Ardeer warehouse will includes a Tyre Centre, Optical Centre, Hearing Aid Centre, food court, bakery, fresh meat, fresh produce and deli, with approximately 16,000 sqm of floor area and 760 car parking spaces.
With over 850 sites around the world, and 14 other warehouse locations across the country, Mr Tingman is confident that the people of Melbourne will benefit from the unique shopping experience they can expect from Costco, as well as the convenience of the new Ardeer location.
