Coca-Cola in Australia and Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) is partnering with Sydney Airport to introduce consumers to the latest innovation in vending, Coke&Go, a new generation of smart coolers powered by artificial intelligence (AI).
Coke&Go coolers, which are being trialled at Sydney Airport’s T2 Domestic terminal, use “cutting-edge AI and image recognition technology to offer a faster, smarter, and more personalised experience, catering to the dynamic, on-the-go lifestyle of today’s consumer.” Through Coke&Go, consumers simply use a smartphone to scan a QR code or tap a credit card to unlock the fridge door and help themselves to their chosen beverages. Products are recognised using image recognition technology and consumers seamlessly complete their purchases via their linked payment methods.
CCEP Australia General Manager of Vending David McKenna says Coke&Go represents a leap forward for the vending industry.
“Our ambition at CCEP is to be at the forefront of innovation, including in vending where we’re always looking at alternatives that enhance convenience and improve the shopping experience for today’s digitally savvy consumer. Coke&Go rethinks vending by using the latest technology to deliver a simple, seamless and unique self-service experience where consumers are able to hand-pick their chosen product off the fridge shelf.”
Sydney Airport General Manager Retail Performance and Growth Emma de Szoeke says: “We’re excited to introduce Coke&Go at our T2 Domestic terminal, offering passengers a seamless and convenient way to grab and enjoy a range of refreshing drinks as they travel through Australia’s busiest airport terminal.
“This new service is all about harnessing technology to enhance our passenger’s experience and make their journey as smooth as possible.”
Coke&Go is the latest example of CCEP’s ongoing commitment to innovation in vending, focused on leveraging technology to make enjoying beverages on-the-go easier and more convenient than ever. This includes the deployment of smart inventory tracking that ensures machines are stocked with the right beverages at the right time, helping to minimise waste. Vending machines also utilise a digital payment platform, Vendswift, which rewards loyal users for their vending purchases.
