Caltex has launched a partnership with Uber Eats to deliver a “new level of convenience for Australians seeking the perfect night in”.
According to the P&C retailer, the new delivery service from 300 sites nationally will help consumers find an easy meal at home, satisfy sweet tooth cravings or source urgent household items.
Customers can use Uber Eats to access and order from The Foodary delivery range. There are over 50 items available for delivery straight to their door. The range includes healthy ready-to-eat meals, sandwiches, protein snacks, or health and beauty and general grocery items.
A ‘natural extension’ for Caltex
Jo Taylor, Caltex Executive General Manager, Convenience Retail, says the new service is a “natural extension” of Caltex’s broader push to deliver even more convenience for Australian consumers.
“This new delivery offer is a natural extension of our convenience offering – we know Australians are time poor and value the moments when we can make life a little easier for them,” she said.
“Our new The Foodary delivery range has been put together to provide our customers with the ability to source a healthy, easy meal, satisfy a sweet tooth craving or grab an urgently needed household item.”
The trial
The Foodary delivery range on Uber Eats was piloted in March 2019 across 27 metropolitan sites.
The trial, according to Caltex, showed ready-to-eat meals and sweet tooth treats as top sellers, including the ‘Ice Cream Lovers Dessert’ bundle and the Ben & Jerry’s ice-cream and Cadbury chocolate products.
Beatrice Bowen, Caltex Head of Design, Format and New Business says customers are increasingly looking for convenient ways to get food and groceries and satisfy cravings at night and on the weekend.
“More and more Australians are embracing food delivery services, so we are thrilled to offer customers the next level of convenience from home, offering not just food, but frequently purchased items like milk, bread and other household products, along with those sweet treats needed to accompany the perfect night in,” she said.
BP and Uber Eats
Similarly, in June, BP announced it was trialling home delivery from its stores via Couchfood, a new service available from Uber Eats.
