Ampol supporting The Smith Family in latest campaign

Ampol has launched its July campaign to help The Smith Family support the education of children and young people.

From today (5 July) to 1 August, 10¢ from every purchase of Smith’s, Red Rock Deli, Twisties, Toobs and Doritos (35-60g range), Mountain Dew, Pepsi, Schweppes and Solo (600ml range), Cadbury block (165-190g range), Ben and Jerry (427-458ml range) and Four ‘N Twenty beef traveller pies at participating Ampol Foodary and Ampol Woolworths MetroGo stores will be donated to The Smith Family.

50¢ from every Aerial beanie sold will also be donated to charity, with customers able to donate at the register or online, too.

The funds raised for The Smith Family will allow students to attend its out-of-school learning clubs focused on targeted educational support based on individual needs.

The campaign launch coincides with NAIDOC Week. With one in five participants of The Smith Family’s Learning Clubs identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, Ampol says it’s proud to play its part in championing First Nations students.

Ampol Executive General Manager Retail Australia Kate Thomson reaffirms that Ampol’s key foundation priority of youth education is the driving factor in the ongoing support of The Smith Family.

“Ampol is committed to driving positive change in our society and the communities in which we operate,” she says.

“Our ability to provide The Smith Family additional support for youth experiencing disadvantage is crucial to keeping them engaged in their education, whether that be finishing school or progressing to further studies or meaningful employment.

“A key component of our Reconciliation Action Plan is investing in important youth education programs. The Smith Family’s Learning Club initiative is a fantastic example of Ampol supporting First Nations peoples, and alike, youth generally.”

The Smith Family CEO Doug Taylor encourages Australians to purchase any of the participating items at Ampol stores during the campaign.

“With their customer’s support, Ampol’s much valued contribution is helping students participate in programs that help them to stay motivated and engaged at school,” he says.

“Programs like these can be life-changing for children in need, helping to overcome educational inequality caused by poverty and enabling them to create better futures for themselves.

“Together with Ampol and their customers, we can help create a better future for children, families and their communities – and build a society that’s more inclusive for all.”
