Ampol is celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community this month with the launch of the Glampol campaign.
The campaign will raise awareness of LGBTQIA+ inclusion and drive in-store donations for Ampol Foundation charity, Minus18, across 10 Sydney CBD Ampol Foodary or Ampol Woolworths MetroGo locations. These include Coogee, North Bondi, Alexandria, Lane Cove West, Manly, Neutral Bay, Randwick, Rosebery, South Coogee and Woollahra.
Ampol Coogee and North Bondi will play host to key Glampol activations, with both stores to receive a rainbow ‘glam up’ to its forecourt and canopy. A Drag Baes Window Wash will also be delivered on three consecutive Saturdays across the month. Ampol employees will be joined by drag queens to wash customers’ windows to help drive additional fundraising for Minus18.
Ampol will also sponsor the Australian Queer Aquatics (AQuA) Festival happening across Sydney throughout February and March.
Ampol Managing Director and CEO Matt Halliday says Ampol is proud to support the LGBTQIA+ community through the Glampol campaign.
“Ampol is dedicated to inclusion across our workforce, operations and the broader community as part of our established diversity strategy,” he says.
“I would like to thank members of our Rainbow Alliance employee networking group for their ongoing support of our work in this space, including supporting our brand and retail teams to bring this campaign to life,” he says.
“We encourage all of our loyal customers to get involved and experience the fun at our Glampol activations and to help us raise funds for Minus18, an organisation that provides vital support to improving the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQIA+ youth across Australia.”
Through its work with InterRetail – a LGBTQIA+ network for the retail industry of which Ampol is a founding member – Ampol says it’s also proud to support the Australian Retailers Association’s industry-wide position statement that aims to build more inclusive workplaces for LGBTQIA+ employees.
