The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia increased by 1.8¢ to 118.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending July 24, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price increased 2.9¢ to 117.5¢ a litre, with the regional price decreasing 0.4¢ to 121.1¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in NSW/ACT at 123.9¢ a litre followed by Tasmania (123.7¢), the NT (122.1¢), WA (120.2¢), Queensland (119.1¢), Victoria (113.8¢), and SA (107.9¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 105.3¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (112.7¢) Brisbane (116.2¢), Perth (118.9¢), Darwin (119.8¢), Hobart (123.8¢) Sydney (125.7¢), and Canberra (127.8¢).
