Petrol price update

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia decreased 0.4¢ to 112.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending March 27, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price decreased 0.3¢ to 112.3¢ a litre, with the regional price decreasing 0.6¢ a litre to 112.4¢ a litre.

The most expensive fuel in the country was in Tasmania at 118.6¢ a litre, followed by the NT (118.3¢), SA (115.2¢), Queensland and WA (113.8¢), NSW/ACT (113.3¢), and Victoria (107.8¢).

Of the major cities, Melbourne offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 107.3¢ a litre, followed by Perth (111.8¢), Brisbane (113.2¢), Sydney (114.7¢), Darwin (115.6¢), Adelaide (116.4¢), Canberra (117.2¢), and Hobart (117.4¢).
