The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia decreased 2.1¢ to 126.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending October 25, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price decreased 2.9¢ to 123.9¢ a litre, with the regional price decreasing 0.6¢ a litre to 130.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in WA at 138.2¢ a litre followed by the NT (137.6¢), Tasmania (136.8¢), Queensland (133.1¢), NSW/ACT (130.7¢), SA (128.7¢) and Victoria (125.3¢).
Of the major cities, Melbourne offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 116.6¢ a litre, followed by Brisbane (120.7¢), Perth (125.6¢), Sydney (129.2¢), Canberra (129.3¢), Darwin (129.8¢), Adelaide (132.2¢), and Hobart (135.8¢).
