Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 5.7¢ to 194.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 31 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 8.4¢ to 194.9¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.1¢ to 194.5¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 205.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (199.9¢), Queensland (197.7¢), Victoria (196.7¢), NSW/ACT (193.2¢), Western Australia (191.3¢), and South Australia (190¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 188.6¢ a litre, followed by Perth (189.7¢), Sydney (189.9¢), Darwin (191.6¢), Melbourne (199.2¢), Brisbane (199.6¢), Hobart (199.7¢), and Canberra (207.7¢).
