The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia remained at 184.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 4 June, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 0.2¢ 182.5¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.2¢ to 186.6¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 217.3¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (186.8¢), Queensland (186¢), NSW/ACT (185¢), Victoria (184.4¢), South Australia (182¢), and Western Australia (179.4¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 174.5¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (174.9¢), Sydney (181.1¢), Melbourne (182.9¢), Brisbane (185.7¢), Hobart (186.1¢), Canberra (192.6¢), and Darwin (203.7¢).
