Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.4¢ to 198.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 12 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.4¢ to 195.8¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.5¢ to 200.8¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 225.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (210.1¢), Queensland (199.7¢), NSW/ACT (199.6¢), Victoria (198.2¢), South Australia (196.6¢), and Western Australia (190.9¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 186.6¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (190.5¢), Sydney (195.8¢), Melbourne (196.5¢), Brisbane (198.5¢), Hobart (208.1¢), Canberra (208.1¢), and Darwin (209.9¢).
