Following the success of Vitasoy’s plant-based milk range, the brand is expanding its product offer in the fridges.
The plant-based, dairy-free, soy yoghurts, designed to give the satisfaction of a traditional thick and creamy Greek-style yoghurt, is available in four delicious flavours – Vitasoy Greek Style Plain, Hint of Vanilla, Hint of Strawberry and Hint of Mango + Passionfruit.
Vitasoy Australia Marketing and Strategy Director Nick Bartram says: “This new product launch has been many years in the making, and is incredibly exciting for the future of our brand. We’ve applied the same care and consideration we use in our plant-based milk products to create the perfect plant-based yogurt.
“The result is a nutritionally balanced, creamy and -most importantly- tasty Greek-style Soy Yogurt which is delicious on its own, or can be used as easily in a smoothie or breakfast bowl as it can as an ingredient in other meals.”
To showcase the versatility of the yoghurt, Vitasoy has created a recipe book, utilising the Vitasoy Greek Style Soy Yogurt range as a key ingredient.
Vitasoy Nutrition Insights Manager Rachael Adams says: “Our studies show one in three people claim to limit the amount of dairy in their diet, and whilst plant-based alternatives exist[1], this can come at a nutritional cost if you’re not paying attention to what you’re consuming. We’ve made sure our range of plant-based yogurts deliver where other plant-based yogurts typically fall short – they provide essential nutrients like protein and calcium and vitamin D which are some micronutrients people often aren’t getting enough of[2].
“Our ambition was to create a plant-based yogurt that makes it easier for people to reach their recommended daily intakes, while tasting delicious – which is why we fortified this recipe with calcium, vitamin D and vitamin B12 – which are particularly important in a vegetarian or plant-based diet. We really think we’ve cracked the code on plant-based yogurt and are very proud of our 4.5 – 5 health star ratings across the range.”
The Vitasoy Greek Style Soy Yogurt range (RRP of $5.80 for a 450g pot and $2.70 for a 140g pot) is available at Woolworths nationally. These join the existing Vitasoy family which includes a range of white and flavoured plant-based milks across Soy, Almond, Oat and Rice in the fridge and in the long-life milk aisle.
