7-Eleven’s regional expansion continues with the company opening its first store in Shepparton at 228-238 Numurkah Road on 3 March. The Honourable Damian Drum MP and Mayor Kim O’Keeffe joined Store Manager Simon Duggan to officially open the store with the store team, community representatives and local residents present.
“The store is the first of what is expected to be approximately three to four stores in the city,” 7-Eleven said in a statement.
“It is part of 7-Eleven’s regional growth and investment strategy to drive job creation, competition, and give people in regional areas access to the same products and services available to their metropolitan counterparts.”
According to 7-Eleven Regional Victoria Lead, Alex Foley, the company’s expansion plans provide rapid career progression opportunities for people with the right aptitudes and attitude.
“We are continuing to build our team to support this store and grow a pipeline of local talent as we work towards our second store opening in Shepparton East in the second half of 2022.
“There are still opportunities to join the team, and we are ready to invest in developing people to get them set up for career success with us as we grow our Shepparton network. I’d encourage people who are keen to join the team to follow us on LinkedIn check out our website for job ads,” Mr Foley said.
In addition to the offer for customers, 7-Eleven is also extending its work with The Salvation Army into Shepparton.
“We have arrangements in place for any excess food to be redirected to the Salvos locally to support their work to care for people experiencing food insecurity, homelessness, or needing help through community programs.
“I’m very proud that our store will be able to help those in need, while reducing the amount of perfectly good food that might otherwise end up in landfill,” Mr Foley concluded.
