Petrol prices rose in Australia by 1.5¢ to 180.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 27 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail petrol price rose 1.3¢ to 181.1¢, while the regional price rose 2¢ to 179.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in country was in the Northern Territory at 193.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (191.3¢), Western Australia (185.1¢), NSW/ACT (183.3¢), Queensland (180.3¢), South Australia (178.7¢), and Victoria (174.9¢).
Of the major cities, Melbourne offered the cheapest petrol prices for the week at 174¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (179¢), Canberra (180.6¢), Brisbane (180.9¢), Perth (185.8¢), Sydney (186.3¢), Darwin (188.4¢), and Hobart (193.8¢).
