Weekly diesel prices

The average price of diesel fuel in Australia rose 1.9¢ to 151¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 3 October, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose by 1.9¢ to 150¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 2¢ to 151.9¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 166.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (155.8¢), NSW/ACT (151.2¢), Victoria (151.2¢), Queensland (150.8¢), South Australia (149.8¢), and Western Australia (148.8¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 146.5¢ a litre, followed by Perth (146.7¢), Sydney (149.5¢), Brisbane (150.5¢), Melbourne (151.1¢), Darwin (155.4¢), Hobart (155.5¢), and Canberra (156¢).
