Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia dropped 3.8¢ to 150.0¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 18 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped 6.1¢ to 151.0¢ a litre, with the regional price rising 1.1¢ to 148.1¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was the Northern Territory at 158.4¢ a litre, followed by South Australia (153.1¢), NSW/ACT (152.4¢), Tasmania (152.2¢), Queensland (149.5¢), Western Australia (149.2¢), and Victoria (146.4¢).

Of the major cities, Melbourne offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 147.1¢ a litre, followed by Perth (149.1¢), Darwin (149.5¢), Canberra (150.8¢), Brisbane (150.9¢), Hobart (151.0¢), Sydney (154.7¢), and Adelaide (155.3¢).
