7-Eleven ParcelMate provides convenience this Christmas

7-Eleven Australia is promoting its ParcelMate service, with flat rate parcel sending and 24/7 drop off, as Christmas posting deadlines approach.

7-Eleven General Manager Product Matt Keogh says providing choice and convenient options for customers is at the centre of the design of ParcelMate.

“While e-commerce has been growing rapidly over the past decade, there’s no doubt that many additional Australians embraced online shopping over the last two years,” he says.

“The volume of packages currently in the network means many people are looking for additional ways to send gifts to family interstate, or dispatch orders to their online shoppers.

“Customers can send parcels to street addresses Australia wide using the self-serve kiosk at any one of the 545 7-Eleven stores with the 7-Eleven ParcelMate lockers.

“The kiosk is simple to use. You just select the right size box or satchel for your parcel, follow the instructions on the kiosk to address and pay, then drop the parcel straight into the lockers in-store.”

Competitive pricing

The pricing of the offer, according to Mr Keogh, gives customers not only a convenient and reliable service, but competitive rates, as well.

“Our Standard Service starts at $12 for the 1kg satchel and the Express Service at $15 for the 1kg Satchel,” he says. “The Super 5kg Boxes are $21 for the Standard Service and $28 for the Express Service. The weights are a guideline.

“Our flat rate parcel sending service means there’s no need to weigh your parcel. If it fits in one of our satchels or boxes, you just pay the flat rates depending on if you want standard or express delivery.”

Mr Keogh says consumers looking to save that bit extra can also take advantage of the Mates Rates offer.

“Our 7-Eleven ParcelMate Mates Rates gives customers a discounted service to send between two 7-Eleven stores, where the recipient collects the parcel directly from one of our lockers in a store location that suits them,” he says.

“It means that people can save an average of $2 per parcel as well as providing a convenient 24/7 collection option for the recipient.”

The cut-off date to send parcels for expected pre-Christmas delivery is this Friday (10 December) for Standard Service parcels. For Express Service parcels, the cut-off date is next Friday (17 December).
