Yerbi is a new energy drink “naturally” caffeinated by yerba mate and guarana. It is promoted as offering “sustained energy without any of the jitters”.
The product is sweetened with vanilla and honey and is described as having a slightly botanical flavour. This, according to Yerbi, is a “far cry from the traditional sickly sweet energy drink experience”.
“Put simply, Yerbi is good, clean, uncomplicated energy and will keep you going for longer with just 6.9g of sugar per 100ml (way less than full sugar alternatives) and no artificial nasties,” says the brand.
Marketing Manager Beverley Reeves adds that Yerbi is paving the way for the future of energy drinks.
“Most classic energy drinks follow the same base matrix – taurine, caffeine and flavour,” she says. “Health-conscious consumers are looking for new, natural alternatives to artificial energy boosts and Yerbi is here to provide that.”
Commenting on yerba mate, Ms Reeves says the native South American plant has been used for centuries to boost stamina.
“It’s well known for delivering a sustained, ‘calm’ energy boost and helping you avoid that jittery feeling and crash you would usually associate with energy drinks and supplements,” she says.
Yerbi is available from Woolworths, Drakes, Foodland, Romeo’s and throughout the independent supermarket network. A 250ml can retails for $3.50, while a four-pack has a RRP of $11.
