Sanitarium says consumers can enjoy a wholefood fix any time of day following the launch of Naturally Nood, a new range of wholefood fruit and nut snack bars from Sanitarium Health & Wellbeing.

Naturally Nood bars are made from dates and nuts, with some varieties featuring other fruits, or cocoa. The bars are available in Banana Bread, Berrylicious, Cashew Crush, Cheeky Cocoa, Cocoa & Orange Tango and Cocoa Lamington and have “no boring bits or added nasties” such as preservatives, artificial colours and flavours.

Sanitarium Senior Manager for New Brands Lynden Rochford says Naturally Nood has been developed to make wholefood snacking a lot more compelling and fun, with research suggesting ‘healthier’ snacks are seen as being uninspiring.

“While two-thirds of 25-44 year olds (surveyed) would prefer snacks that are healthier, more than one in three shoppers believe current offers are boring, and over half of 18-64 year olds also think they’re not that good for you, rising to 61 per cent among females aged 25-44,” he said.

Each of the six varieties contains more than 90 per cent wholefood and scores between three and four stars under the Health Star Rating system.
