Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 1.3¢ to 182.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 9 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 1.4¢ to 182.6¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 1¢ to 183.4¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 197.7¢ a litre, followed by NSW/ACT (191.6¢), Tasmania (188.3¢), Queensland (183.1¢), Western Australia (180¢), Victoria (175.5¢), and South Australia (171.4¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 168.2¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (175¢), Perth (178.5¢), Darwin (183.1¢), Brisbane (183.9¢), Hobart (186.5¢), Sydney (195.1¢), and Canberra (196.1¢).
