The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 2.7¢ to 208.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 8 October, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 3.5¢ to 209.1¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 1¢ to 207.2¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Queensland at 223.1¢ a litre, followed by the Northern Territory (216.6¢), Tasmania (214.8¢), Victoria (207.3¢), NSW/ACT (205.8¢), Western Australia (201.6¢), and South Australia (192.7¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 188.6¢ a litre, followed by Perth (199.3¢), Sydney (202.5¢), Darwin (205.7¢), Melbourne (209.5¢), Canberra (212.4¢), Hobart (213.4¢), and Brisbane (232¢).
