The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia dropped 1.0¢ to 138.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 2 May, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped 1.6¢ to 138.7¢ a litre, with the regional price rising by 0.1¢ to 137.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in NT at 149.7¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (142.7¢), Queensland (141.7¢), NSW/ACT (140.4¢), Western Australia (139.5¢), South Australia (133.4¢), and Victoria (132.9¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 131.9¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (132.7¢), Perth (139.3¢), Darwin (139.8¢), Canberra (140.1¢), Sydney (142.4¢), Hobart (143.6¢) and Brisbane (144.3¢).
