The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 3.1¢ to 196.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 5 June, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 4.2¢ to 196.2¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.7¢ to 198.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 208.2¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (203.3¢), Western Australia (201.1¢), NSW/ACT (199¢), Queensland (197.3¢), Victoria (192.6¢), and South Australia (192.3¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 189.8¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (192.7¢), Brisbane (197¢), Sydney (198.4¢), Darwin (199.5¢), Canberra (200.3¢), Perth (201.1¢), and Hobart (202.1¢).
