The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 11.1¢ to 186.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 4 June, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 15.5¢ to 189.5¢ a litre, while the regional price rose by 2.5¢ to 181.2¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 196¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (191.5¢), Queensland (189.3¢), NSW/ACT (187.5¢), Tasmania (183.8¢), Western Australia (177.6¢), and South Australia (174.8¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 172.6¢ a litre, followed by Perth (176.2¢), Darwin (181.6¢), Hobart (183.1¢), Canberra (184.1¢), Sydney (192.7¢), Brisbane (194.4¢), and Melbourne (195.6¢).
