The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 11.2¢ to 181.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 31 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 12.5¢ to 177.4¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 8.6¢ to 190.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 212.6¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (194¢), Victoria (187.1¢), NSW/ACT (181.8¢), Western Australia (180¢), Queensland (179¢), and South Australia (166.8¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 160.8¢ a litre, followed by Brisbane (173.6¢), Sydney (174¢), Perth (174.6¢), Melbourne (185.5¢), Hobart (194.5¢), Darwin (201.9¢), and Canberra (207.3¢).
