The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 4.0¢ to 125.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 26 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 5.5¢ 128.7¢ a litre, with the regional price rising by 0.8¢ to 119.5¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Victoria at 134.2¢ a litre, followed by Northern Territory (131.1¢), NSW/ACT (127.0¢), South Australia (125.4¢), Tasmania (124.6¢), Western Australia (120.5¢), and Queensland (115.7¢).
Of the major cities, Brisbane offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 114.2¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (118.9¢), Perth (120.1¢), Canberra (122.9¢), Hobart (124.1¢), Adelaide (127.4¢), Sydney (134.2¢), and Melbourne (139.2¢).
