The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 0.7¢ to 168.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 31 October, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 2.4¢ to 170¢, while the regional price rose 2.9¢ to 166.5¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 175.7¢ a litre followed by Tasmania (172¢), South Australia (170.4¢), NSW/ACT (169.9¢), Queensland (168.8¢), Victoria (168.2¢), and Western Australia (164.9¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 163.9¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (168.2¢), Canberra (168.9¢), Melbourne (170.2¢), Brisbane (170.9¢), Sydney (171.2¢), Hobart (171.9¢), and Adelaide (172.7¢).
