Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia dropped 3.6¢ to 139.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 25 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped 5.1¢ to 140.3¢ a litre, with the regional price dropping by 0.5¢ to 137.2¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in NT at 149.7¢ a litre, followed by NSW/ACT (144.6¢), Tasmania (142.5¢), Western Australia (139.3¢), Victoria (136.9¢), Queensland (134.9¢), and South Australia (134.2¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 132.9¢ a litre, followed by Brisbane (134.1¢), Melbourne (137.9¢), Perth (139.0¢), Darwin (139.8¢), Canberra (140.1¢), Hobart (143.4¢) and Sydney (150.5¢).
