The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia dropped 3.3¢ to 152.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 3 October, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped 5.4¢ to 151.8¢, while the regional price rose 1.2¢ to 152.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 161.7¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (158.5¢), Queensland (154.3¢), NSW/ACT (152.4¢), Western Australia (151.9¢), Victoria (151.8¢), and South Australia (144¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 141.5¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (150.9¢), Perth (151.1¢), Darwin (151.8¢), Melbourne (152.8¢), Brisbane (155¢), Hobart (158.7¢), and Canberra (160¢).
