The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 0.6¢ to 144.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending September 22, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.3¢ to 144.2¢ a litre, with the regional price falling 2.5¢ to 144.1¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Tasmania at 151.1¢ a litre, followed by NT (150¢), Victoria (145.4¢), NSW/ACT (145.3¢), Western Australia (143.8¢), Queensland (142.6¢) and South Australia (137.5¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 134.5¢ a litre, followed by Perth (143.3¢), Canberra (143.5¢), Brisbane (143.7¢), Sydney (144.2¢), Melbourne (147.9¢) and Hobart (151.5¢).
