The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia increased 0.3¢ to 182.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 26 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price increased 0.5¢ to 182.2¢ a litre, while the regional price fell by 0.3¢ to 182.5¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 194.7¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (189.2¢), NSW/ACT (187.9¢), Queensland (181.6¢), Western Australia (179.6¢), Victoria (178.6¢) and South Australia (173.6¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 170.2¢ a litre, followed by Perth (178.2¢), Melbourne (178.6¢), Darwin (179.7¢), Brisbane (181.8¢), Canberra (186.2¢), Hobart (188.8¢), and Sydney (191.8¢).
