Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 5¢ to 196.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 26 November, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 6.5¢ to 197.1¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 2¢ to 195.8¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 209.5¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (207.1¢), Victoria (197.6¢), Tasmania (195.2¢), NSW/ACT (194.3¢), Western Australia (191.4¢), and South Australia (184¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 181.4¢ a litre, followed by Perth (189.7¢), Sydney (190.8¢), Hobart (191.8¢), Darwin (196.2¢), Melbourne (199.2¢), Canberra (200.2¢), and Brisbane (214.6¢).
