The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 2.7¢ to 139.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 20 June, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 4.0¢ to 138.9¢ a litre, with the regional price staying the same at 141.1¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 150.3¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (147.4¢), Tasmania (145.6¢), Western Australia (140.5¢), NSW/ACT (139.8¢), Victoria (135.0¢), and South Australia (130.0¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 126.6¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (134.4¢), Sydney (137.8¢), Perth (139.9¢), Darwin (139.9¢), Canberra (140.8¢), Hobart (145.6¢), and Brisbane (150.9¢).
