The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 1¢ to 145.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending October 20, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.2¢ to 144¢ a litre, with the regional price falling 0.7¢ to 147.1¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the NT at 157.2¢ a litre, followed by South Australia (156.6¢), Tasmania (155.61¢), Western Australia (147¢), Queensland (143.8¢), Victoria (143.1¢) and NSW/ACT (142.8¢).
Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 139.1¢ a litre, followed by Brisbane (142.7¢), Melbourne (142.8¢), Perth (145.9¢), Darwin (147.3¢), Canberra (148.6¢), Hobart (155.9¢) and Adelaide (159.6¢).
