The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia dropped 4.0¢ to 120.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 20 September, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped 5.4¢ 120.7¢ a litre, with the regional price rose by 1.4¢ to 119.1¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Northern Territory at 130.0¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (123.9¢), Tasmania (123.7¢), South Australia (123.4¢), Queensland (120.4¢), Western Australia (117.4¢), and NSW/ACT (116.9¢).
Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 113.8¢ a litre, followed by Perth (116.6¢), Darwin (117.6¢), Brisbane (121.6¢), Canberra (122.0¢), Hobart (124.1¢), Adelaide (125.2¢), and Melbourne (126.8¢).
