Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 2.2¢ to 200.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 24 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 2.6¢ to 203.3¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 1.7¢ to 194.6¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Victoria at 208.6¢ a litre, followed by the Northern Territory (205.8¢), Queensland (204.8¢), Tasmania (198.1¢), NSW/ACT (196.8¢), South Australia (195.7¢), and Western Australia (188.3¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 186.1¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (191.7¢), Sydney (195.4¢), Adelaide (197.3¢), Hobart (197.9¢), Canberra (209.7¢), Brisbane (210.4¢), and Melbourne (215.7¢).
