The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 4.5¢ to 173¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 24 November, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 6.2¢ to 172.1¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 1.3¢ to 174.7¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 186.3¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (175.9¢), Queensland (174.7¢), NSW/ACT (173.7¢), Victoria (172.7¢), Western Australia (171¢), and South Australia (167.4¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 165.2¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (168.1¢), Perth (169.8¢), Sydney (172.2¢), Melbourne (173¢), Brisbane (174.8¢), Hobart (175.5¢), and Canberra (176.7¢).
