The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell to 133.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending March 18, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s Weekly Petrol Prices report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.0¢ to 132.2¢ a litre, with the regional price down 0.5¢ to 136.5¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 155.4¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (146.5¢), NSW/ACT (139.6¢), WA (136.9¢), Queensland (130.2¢), South Australia (127.7¢) and Victoria (127.4¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 125.1¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (126.1¢), Brisbane (127.2¢), Perth (135.6¢), Sydney (140.7¢), Hobart (145.4¢), Canberra (147.9¢) and Darwin (148.3¢).
