The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 4.1¢ to 197.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 23 June, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 5.5¢ to 201.2¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 1.3¢ to 190.5¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Queensland at 206.2¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (199.7¢), the Northern Territory (199.6¢), NSW/ACT (198¢), Tasmania (192.5¢), South Australia (189.2¢), and Western Australia (183.3¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 181.7¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (184.1¢), Adelaide (190.4¢), Hobart (191.7¢), Canberra (195.5¢), Sydney (202.7¢), Melbourne (204.2¢), and Brisbane (214.5¢).
