The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 1.8¢ to 182.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 23 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 2.6¢ to 184¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.3¢ to 180.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 196.5¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (189.4¢), NSW/ACT (189.3¢), Tasmania (184.7¢), South Australia (181.3¢), Western Australia (176.7¢), and Victoria (172.1¢).
Of the major cities, Melbourne offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 170.8¢ a litre, followed by Perth (175¢), Darwin (181.6¢), Hobart (182.5¢), Adelaide (182.8¢), Canberra (192.4¢), Brisbane (193¢), and Sydney (195.5¢).
