The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 2.0¢ to 121.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 18 October, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 2.8¢ 122.8¢ a litre, with the regional price dropped by 0.6¢ to 118.1¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Queensland at 132.2¢ a litre, followed by Northern Territory (130.2¢), NSW/ACT (124.9¢), Tasmania (123.0¢), Western Australia (118.1¢), Victoria (113.0¢), and South Australia (107.7¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 103.9¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (112.9 ¢), Perth (117.5¢), Darwin (117.6¢), Canberra (121.0¢), Hobart (123.3¢), Sydney (130.0¢) and Brisbane (139.5¢).
