The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia dropped 1.0¢ to 142.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending November 17, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped 0.8¢ to 140.5¢ a litre, with the regional price falling 1.2¢ to 145.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Tasmania at 156.0¢ a litre, followed by Northern Territory (154.2¢), South Australia (153.9¢), Western Australia (145.5¢), Queensland (141.3¢), Victoria (140.1¢) and NSW/ACT (138.9¢).
Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 134.1¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (138.8¢), Brisbane (139.3¢), Darwin (143.3¢) Perth (144.4¢), Canberra (147.5¢), Hobart (156.1¢) and Adelaide (156.8¢).
