The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 4.3¢ to 191.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 21 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 5.8¢ to 192.3¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 1.1¢ to 190.5¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 199.7¢ a litre, followed by NSW/ACT (198.3¢), South Australia (195.3¢), Tasmania (192.4¢), Queensland (192¢), Western Australia (185.2¢), and Victoria (184.4¢).
Of the major cities, Darwin offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 183.8¢ a litre, followed by Perth (184.2¢), Melbourne (184.4¢), Hobart (191.4¢), Brisbane (193.8¢), Canberra (197.8¢), Adelaide (198.3¢), and Sydney (201.4¢).
